Actor James Nesbitt is being lined up as the man to take over as Doctor Who from David Tennant.
David, 36, is expected to quit at the end of the next series.
Insiders say James, 42, is favourite to become the latest Time Lord.
And it helps that he actor is pals with Doctor Who writer Steven Moffat.
‘Moffat has worked with James on Jekyll and the talk in BBC Drama is that he’s a shoo-in as the next Doctor,’ a source tells The Sun.

james nesbitt? no way! the man cant even disguise his thick irish accent when playing a roman! if hes the next dr who, i wont be watching
i think james nesbitt would make a fancastic dr who. why do people moan about his accent ? what is the big deal? have dr who got to have a certain accent? As long as the person can act, i dont care and i think james would be the perfect person to play dr who.
I dont want James Nesbitt to be the next doctor who, however I do not care about the accent!!! Anyway I dont WANT guesses I want the truth!!!!Its so mean the way they ended the last episode(when Davis Tennant regenerating) and they didnt show who he turns into!!!
naaaaaaa he cantr be the next doctor who it ruins it his accent is weird they need a new fresh face like before to keep doctor who in the No 1 TV show in the world!!!!!!!!!!1
I'm not sure. Maybe James Nesbitt will make a good Doctor. I think we should all just wait and see.
