Her father thought her too young to be a bride

Winona Ryder has revealed her dad banned her from marrying ex-boyfriend Johnny Depp.

The troubled actress, 35, fell in love with the actor, 44, on the set of the 1990 film Edward Scissorhands.

But although Winona’s dad Michael Horowitz liked Johnny, he thought his teenage daughter was too young at the time to get hitched.

The most beautiful man in the world slipped through her fingers.

‘You stopped a wedding,’ Winona tells her dad in a joint interview for US Vogue.

But her father defends his decision.

‘They were the hottest couple in the US at that time, like Brad (Pitt) and Angelina (Jolie),' Michael concedes.

'You guys were cool,’ he tells his daughter.

‘We loved Johnny but you were 17.’
