Johnny Depp to marry Vanessa Paradis

After 9 years together...

He's waited 9 years to pop the question, but it looks as if Johnny Depp will finally make an honest woman of French lover Vanessa Paradis.

The pair now plan to exchange vows at a private ceremony in the south of France in the next couple of weeks.

The couple have been together since 1998 and have two children, Lily-Rose, 8, and 5-year-old Jack.

Johnny was divorced from first wife Lori Anne Allison in 1985 and dated Winona Ryder, Jennifer Grey and Kate Moss before meeting Vanessa.

Reluctant to marry again, Johnny, 44, has always insisted: 'If you are together and you love each other and are good to each other, for all intents and purposes you are married.'

Vanessa, 34, is clearly committed to her man. 'Johnny is all I dreamed of,' she recently told a French magazine. 'No one could love the way we love. He's a beautiful person so obviously he's a beautiful dad.'

It's time to dust of those hats...
