Rod Stewart gives Tommy Lee the thumbs up

He gives rocker blessing to date daughter Kimberly

Rod Stewart has given hellraiser Tommy Lee the thumbs up to woo daughter Kimberly.

Tommy, 44, has managed to win over the 62-year-old with a romantic gesture.

The Motley Crue drummer hired a helicopter to pick up Kimberly, 27, from her dad's LA mansion.

But Tommy forgot to get permission to land from Rod, who wasn't at home – so he had to fly away.

Even so, his prospective father-in-law was impressed.

'I've tried some manoeuvres in my time to pursue a woman, but I've got to admit this is a pretty strong move,' Rod tells the Daily Mirror.

'Attempting to land a helicopter in my garden just to impress my daughter... That is quite something!'

Yeah, but forgetting to get it okayed wasn't too clever...
