Gemma Atkinson linked to Man United star Alan Smith

Hollyoaks star reported to have dated the footballer before hooking up with Cristiano

In the same week that boyfriend Cristiano Ronaldo was spotted partying with Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu, ex-Hollyoaks star Gemma Atkinson, 22, has been linked to England star Alan Smith, 26.

The pair are said to have dated some time before she got together with his team-mate Cristiano seven months ago and remain mates.

But it may be that Gemma hasn't mentioned this to Cris.

'She really sees her future with Cristiano and has been trying to keep it all quiet,' a pal tells the News Of The World. 'She understands how it might cause huge problems between them.'

Alan's student girlfriend would probably prefer it if he and Gem were no longer mates, too.

Who wants a gorgeous blonde ex with a 34F bust hanging around? Nobody sensible.

In response to newspaper allegations that she and Alan are more than pals, Gem says: 'It's totally untrue to suggest I've cheated with Alan Smith during the seven months I've been seeing Cristiano.'
