Elton John: I couldn't use a washing machine until I was 43

Partner David Furnish had to teach him

Elton John has revealed he used to be hopeless around the house.

The pop legend, 60, says he lived such a pampered life that he couldn't even put his smalls in a spin until he was 43.

‘I wasn't ashamed of being a drug addict, I was ashamed to ask someone how to work a washing machine,’ he admits in a US TV interview.

‘I couldn't do anything for myself.’

But Sir Elton says he had to pull his finger out when he met his civil partner David Furnish, 44.

‘David was a grown up,' says the musician.

Now the happy couple live in contented domestic bliss.
