Vinnie Jones: I was approached by David Beckham's team

LA Galaxy tried to sign him

Former QPR player Vinnie Jones has revealed that he could easily have been playing alongside David Beckham – after an LA Galaxy rep tried to sign him up.

A scout for the team became impressed with the ex-footballer’s skills during a charity tournament.

‘I was playing in a seven-a-side tournament,’ Vinnie, 42, tells The Sun. ‘We were one-nil down in one game so I decided I’d had enough and got stuck in.

‘After the game LA Galaxy’s chief scout — some geezer called Warren — came up to me and told me I had good feet. He said he wanted me to go for a trial.'

But Vinnie – now a movie star – wasn’t attracted by the offer.

‘I said, “You’re having a laugh, mate — you’re 15 years too late”.’
