Britney Spears’ lawyer threatens to quit

Pop princess is desperate not to lose her legal advisor

Britney Spears’ lawyer Laura Wasser is reported to have threatened to resign.

The attorney, 38, who has represented some of the biggest names in Hollywood – including Angelina Jolie and Nick Lachey – is said to be fed up with Brit's wild ways and wants out.

Britney’s ex-husband, Kevin Federline, 28, is fighting for sole custody of sons Sean Preston, nearly two, and Jayden James, 10 months.

‘Laura has put Britney in touch with other lawyers who could help the singer in her custody battle,’ a source tells TMZ.com, ‘but Britney is so reliant on Laura she doesn’t like any of the alternatives.’

Britney, 25 – seen fleeing from Laura’s office in tears last week – definitely isn’t taking the news too well.

The custody case is due at the Los Angeles Superior Court on 17 September.
