SEE VIDEO: Spice reunion - the truth

Now uncovers the secret behind-the-scenes problems, squabbles and tears...

spice girls

The Spice Girls reunion tour is 'about celebrating the past and enjoying each other,' says Geri Halliwell. But Now knows the real truth.

‘We have arguments, but we love each other more than you know,’ insisted Emma Bunton at the girls' press conference – though Mel B’s response was more blunt.

‘Of course Mel and I fight. We’re Northerners, what do you expect?’ she chipped in.

With five very strong women - Victoria Beckham, 33, Emma Bunton, 31, Melanie Brown, 32, Melanie Chisholm, 33, and Geri, 34 – touring the world, prepare for fireworks.

Flashpoint ‘We won’t be Victoria’s poodles’

Eek. Victoria Beckham may have been the driving force behind the reunion, but if she thinks she’s going to be the top Spice, she should think again.

‘Posh desperately needs the Spice Girls to use as a platform to be successful in the US in her own right. She’s the one who’s schmoozing them one by one to make sure it works,’ says our source.

‘But let’s get this clear. Mel B’s in it for the cash only. To be frank, if Victoria tried to give it the big “I am”, Mel B would tell her to f*** off.'

Flashpoint ‘Mel B can’t stand Geri’

Geri left the band originally in May 1998 because of Mel B.

‘It was a constant battle between them,’ says our source. ‘Mel B won because she’s louder and thicker-skinned.

'She respects Geri now for being a single mum but, professionally, they’re miles apart.’

Flashpoint ‘Geri will never be forgiven’

According to a source close to the Posh camp, Mel B was the one who nearly prevented the reunion. They’re all still furious with Geri for dumping the band.

Flashpoint ‘Do they want to take pictures of us on the bog?’

It was Victoria’s ridiculous boobs at the press conference that hit the headlines and it was no accident.

Our source says: ‘At one point Victoria was telling the others: ”Come on, girls, work it for the cameras,” and Mel B turned round and said: ‘For f***’s sake, Victoria – do you want them to take pictures of us on the bog?” I heard it – it was hilarious.'

Flashpoint ‘The hierarchy still exists – Victoria’s at the bottom’

When the band were originally together, there was a pecking order and it always started with the loudest.

‘The top three were, in this order, Mel B, Mel C, then Geri,’ our source reveals.

‘Absolutely nothing has changed. The strongest characters are still dominant. At the press conference. Victoria hardly said a word.

‘She may be the richest and most famous, but that cuts no ice with the rest of them.’
