Robbie Williams gives £1.5 million to Stoke-on-Trent

He wants to help disadvantaged groups in hometown

Robbie Williams

Generous Robbie Williams has given £1.5million to his hometown.

The singer, 33, wants to help disadvantaged groups – including people with drug and alcohol problems - in Stoke-on-Trent.

He’s donated the cash to the Give it Sum charity which he set up with Comic Relief.

‘I'm glad the little help I give can raise the profile of things like this,’ he tells the Daily Mirror.

‘I want to be more active in and around Stoke-on-Trent - the place I love and where I'll eventually return to.’

Good start, Rob. Now we want to see you do a Princess Di and turn up to talk to people too.

That takes more commitment than just sending a cheque.
