Marilyn Manson's scary night in France

He and pal Johnny Depp thought world was going to end

Goth rocker Marilyn Manson reveals he once spent an evening with Johnny Depp waiting for the end of the world.

Marilyn, 38, celebrated New Year’s Eve 1999 in the south of France downing absinthe with the Pirates Of The Caribbean actor, 44.

When the clocks struck midnight and the planet hadn't been obliterated, they decided to swig more of the super-strength spirit.

‘We were ready for the apocalypse and when it didn’t come we were very disappointed,’ Marilyn tells Rolling Stone magazine.

‘So we drank more absinthe and set off fireworks. Since then, I don’t drink absinthe, or drink booze.’
