Eccentric TV personality has liposuction for documentary

Louis Theroux has gone under the knife for a documentary.

The eccentric presenter paid £2,500 for liposuction and had 1lb of fat taken out of his waist - dropping a trouser size.

The operation was filmed for a programme looking at America's obsession with plastic surgery.

‘To begin with I thought I'd get something minor like Botox,' says Louis, 'but a surgeon told me I'd be a good candidate for lipo on my stomach and love handles.'

And the risks didn’t bother the 37-year-old.

‘I was told the worst that can happen is you get some lumps under your skin,’ he tells the Daily Mirror.

‘I thought it a risk worth taking as I wanted to see if I'd feel like a new and improved man.’

The show will air on BBC2 in September.
