Scientologist Tom Cruise banned from filming by German minister

Hollywood star refused permission to shoot at military bases because of beliefs

Tom Cruise

His A-list status may get him exclusive access into Hollywood hotspots, but Tom Cruise doesn't have the same clout in Germany.

Currently working on new movie Valkyrie - about a plot to kill Hitler during World War 2 - he's facing a bit of a hiccup.

The actor, 44, has been banned from filming at the country's military bases because he’s a Scientologist.

‘They will not be allowed to film at German military sites if Count Stauffenberg is played by Tom Cruise, who has publicly professed to being a member of the Scientology cult,’ a Defence Ministry spokesman tells the Daily Express.

Tom’s spokesperson wasn’t available for comment.

Looks like it’s Mission Impossible for Tom.
