Kelly Clarkson suffered from bulimia

She developed the eating disorder after missing out on high school musical

American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson has revealed she once suffered from bulimia.

The 25-year-old developed the eating disorder after missing out on a role in her high school musical.

‘I thought if I came back and I was cuter and thinner - then I'd get the role,’ she says.

The singer struggled with the disorder for 6 months until pals discovered her secret problem.

‘One of my guy friends caught on to it, and I just felt so ashamed and embarrassed,' she tells CosmoGIRL. 'I literally went cold turkey and snapped out of it.'
