Teenager aimed shooter at comic as he filmed TV show
Thursday, 21 June 2007
Comedian Patrick Kielty feared for his life when a teenager pointed a gun at him.
The incident happened when the Irishman was filming ITV series Tough Gig in Hackney, East London – a show about youth gang culture.
Patrick, 36, ran for cover when the boy turned up on a BMX bike, lifted his top to reveal a gun, then aimed the weapon at the TV host.
'A teenager cycled past and flashed a gun in our direction. It was time to leave,' Patrick tells the Daily Mirror.
'He was a kid - that made me more scared.'
The incident was not caught on camera, but the TV star - whose father was shot dead in Northern Ireland – refers to it in the show.
'The boy and his friends clearly didn't like Patrick and the TV crew being on their turf,' adds his spokesman.
