Victoria Beckham breaks her mum's fashion rule

Posh ignores mum’s advice about style

Fashion guru Victoria Beckham reveals her mum's not impressed with her updated best-seller, That Extra Half An Inch.

Posh, 33, had to do some grovelling to mum Jackie Adams after she fell in love with stripes.

‘One of my mother's style rules was never to wear horizontal stripes, and that always stayed with me - until recently,’ she says in the new paperback edition.

‘Sorry, Mum, I just had to break a few rules here and there. I have found that a slinky striped sweater dress or fitted T can actually look very stylish.’

But Vicky hasn’t ignored all her mother's advice.

She says: ‘My mum's other style tip, incidentally, is don't eat beetroot because it stains - and I never have to this day.’

The updated That Extra Half An Inch style guide is due to hit the shops in September.
