Corrie’s Ashley squares up to boxing legends

Steven Arnold challenges Chris Eubank and Nigel Benn to bout

Corrie star Steven Arnold challenged boxing legends Chris Eubank and Nigel Benn to a fight at a posh dinner.

Steven, who plays butcher Ashley Peacock, heckled the pair as they made after-dinner speeches from inside a boxing ring.

The 'tired and emotional' actor, 32, then clambered into the ring and challenged stunned Chris, 41, and Nigel, 43, to an impromptu bout.

'He was acting the big man,' Kevin Lueshling, organiser of the Manchester event tells The Daily Mirror. 'He probably thought it was hilarious but nobody else was amused.’

As fellow diners booed, the squeaky-voiced actor was bundled out of the ring by two security guards.

It was a bit of fun,' says a Corrie spokesman. 'He didn’t do anything to offend.’
