Was Paris Hilton suicidal?

Secret deal thrashed out before she even went to jail

Paris Hilton was sneaked out of jail at 2.09am yesterday after consultations with officials and her doctors about a 'confidential medical condition'.

The sobbing hotel heiress couldn't eat or sleep during her short stay behind bars and her mental health is reported to have been so fragile, it was feared she was suicidal.

After being freed from Century Regional Detention Centre, Paris declared: ‘I have learnt a great deal from this ordeal and hope that others have learned from my mistakes.’

But was her release preplanned?

‘This was all decided about three weeks ago, shortly after Paris was sentenced,' an insider tells The Daily Mirror.

And Association of LA Deputy Sheriffs president Steve Remige has blasted the decision to let Paris go.

‘There appears to have been preferential treatment,’ he admits. ‘This isn’t the first time this has happened. Remember Mel Gibson.’

Paris will now spend 40 days under house arrest in her luxury West Hollywood home, where she’ll have to wear an electronic tag at all times
