Paris Hilton is using her time behind bars to reflect on her life - and global problems.
The hotel heiress's lawyer Richard A. Hutton visited her at California's Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood yesterday after her first night in jail.
'Her attitude is - I'm going to come in here, I'm going to do my time, get it over with, and I'm going to show the world who I really am,' he told reporters as he left the prison.
'She's using this time to reflect on her life, to see what she can do to make the world better.'
The 26-year-old is in solitary confinement in a cell which measures just 12 by 8ft. It has a bunk bed, a toilet, wash basin and two windows.
Richard Hutton insists it is the dangers facing Paris while in prison that have forced the authorities to put her in isolation.
'Because of who she is, they had no choice,' he explained.
'The one hour of the day she's out, she is allowed to take a shower or talk on the phone. But my client's reaction to this has been fantastic. I'm very, very proud of her.'
