Davina McCall: Jade, Danielle and Jo were silly, bitchy girls

BB host says trio's behaviour was disgusting

Davina McCall has revealed she thinks Jade Goody, Danielle Lloyd and Jo O'Meara were bullies on Celebrity Big Brother - but not necessarily racist.

The girls' treatment of Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty caused a national outcry.

'Yes, Jade Goody behaved appallingly, as did the other girls,' says Davina. 'And there was bullying.

'I don't think Jo did herself any favours in the interview. Legally, at the time, I was not allowed to have an opinion as to whether or not she was racist...she hadn't necessarily said racist things.

'It was her collusion with Jade that had got her in to trouble...really horrible stuff. But I couldn't sit there and say that's racist , because I would be judging and prosecuting her.'

Davina, 39, suggests the problem stemmed from old-fashioned girlie bitchiness.

'I think it was really bitchy naivety on their parts,' she tells The Guardian Weekend. 'They were silly, bitchy girls, I think girls have a tendency to be like that.'
