Sien stars...not

Sorry guys but despite digging a tunnel and scaling a wall, grim determination wasn’t enough to gain entry to the Factory Girl after party. Still, I wasn’t the only one not there - I don’t think any celebs bothered either!

Reminds me of the time I tried to get in to the National TV Awards party. After loitering with intent for about an hour outside, I made a run for it as soon as security looked the other way. I got in, dumped my coat and sprinted to the far end of the room and grabbed a champagne glass. Well, you’ve got to look like you’re meant to be there.

Sadly, they realised I’d done a runner and legged it right after me. Just as my pulse rate began to subside two great oafs pounced on me and started frog marching me towards the door. I’m only about 5ft 5in so it’s not really necessary to use brute force.

Luckily by using the age-old tantrum technique of making a really loud and embarrassing fuss they let go and allowed me to walk out unaided. Which I did, head held high.

You may think it’s really humiliating but because it’s my job I actually just think it’s hugely entertaining. Hilarious, in fact!

Anyway, I won’t shame the monthly that made the now rather pointless effort to keep other journalists out last night, but the main thing is we didn’t miss anything. Phew.

It seems Miss Miller is rather short of celebrity mates. Unless you count Peaches Geldof (who turns up at the opening of an envelope) and Matthew Williamson (an old mate) nobody else felt the need to support poor old Sienna. How embarrassing.

The film is actually pretty good. It’s sad because, as we all know, at the end of it Edie Sedgwick dies age 28. But the 60s style is fabulous and Guy Pearce is amazing as Andy Warhol.

Sienna nails the American accent but her dad is from Pennsylvania and she studied in the States so you’d hope that wouldn’t be too much of a problem. Basically if you’re interested in Edie’s story and the swinging 60s art scene, you’ll enjoy it.

Despite the lack of stars at the premiere, I was still lucky enough to be treated like one – thanks to Now’s Health Editor accompanying me. The radiant one in question is also pregnant. What with her, the friend I visited at the weekend and my sister-in-law, I’m beginning to feel like Mel C in the Spice Girls – the only one without a child!

Due to the bump a lovely man called David (actually his name is Ben but they didn’t have the right name badge for him, poor chap) gave us special seat service and brought a giant box of Maltesers over so we didn’t have to get up. Excellent. Mel B should stay pregnant as long as possible - it’s clearly the way to win public sympathy!
