Dame Helen Mirren says she'll teach Becks to act

Although he's back in the England squad and in top form on the footie field, David Beckham would like to appear in Hollywood films.

That dream might now come true because Oscar winner Dame Helen Mirren, 61, has offered to give him acting lessons in LA.

'She is really serious about showing David how to perform for the cameras,' a friend tells ITV news.

Dame Helen bumped into Becks for the first time last month at the Greatest Britons awards ceremony where they both picked up awards.

The actress was thrilled at meeting the soccer hero and announced: 'Well that was a thrill of a lifetime.'

As David, 32, is great admirer of Dame Helen's work, it's the perfect professional match. Perhaps Becks could show his mentor how to put a sensational spin on a ball.
