Posh watches David's brilliant comeback

David Beckham shines for England - and for Victoria

David Beckham

Last night David Beckham set up England's goal against Brazil at Wembley - and proved he should never have been dropped from the national squad,

Posh and four-year-old Romeo were on their feet in the crowd to cheer him and it looked as if England would triumph until a last minute goal by Diego resulted in a 1-1 draw,

Victoria, 33, walked away from her American TV reality show to watch her 32-year-old husband and he made it worth her while with a brilliant pass to team captain John Terry.

'David was different class today,' John admitted. 'His delivery is superb.'

Come on, Tony Blair, give the boy a knighthood. There's only one David Beckham!

'To achieve greatness in sport, you must have the ability to perform miracles and miracles don't come from people who see life in humdrum terms,' says Simon Barnes in The Times.

'Beckham set out to rescue his manager, his team, his country.'
