Keira Knightley to play Princess Diana?

Actress is tipped for the royal role

Actress Keira Knightley is being tipped to play Princess Diana in a movie based on the late royal's life.

Movie moguls are reported to have been embroiled in a bidding war for the rights to the controversial book Diana And The Paparazzi at this year's Cannes Film Festival.

And 22-year-old Keira is the hot favourite to play the lead role.

'Already the word in Hollywood is "Get Knightley",' movie producer Quentin Reynolds tells The Sun. 'It's a story that has everything: pathos, tragedy, comedy, adventure and Princess Diana.'

He also reckons a Diana biopic may be more of a hit than Oscar-winning movie, The Queen.

'For every pound The Queen makes, a film about Diana will make ten,' he predicts.

Sounds like a royal flush.
