Simon Cowell: This is your life

Pop mogul is set to be honoured on show

Simon Cowell will appear on This Is Your Life.

The music mogul was ambushed live on American Idol on Wednesday night, just hours after it was revealed that the hit show with the famous red book is coming back to our screens.

Simon, 48, famed for his scathing criticisms of pop hopefuls, was for once left speechless.

Sir Trevor MacDonald, who received a big hug from Simon, will present the show. The one-off episode is scheduled to be shown on our screens on 2 June.

It's not yet known if pop manager Louis Walsh and TV presenter Kate Thorton will appear after being axed from The X Factor. But Sharon Osbourne, Jennifer Lopez and Oprah Winfrey are all set to be involved.

Last year's X Factor winner Leona Lewis, 22, and Il Divo, are both set to perform live.
