Paula Abdul breaks her nose

Star trips over her pooch

Paula Abdul has broken her nose after tripping over her pet Chihuahua.

The American Idol judge, who was trying to avoid stepping on her tiny dog, Tulip, ended up falling flat on her face on Saturday.

'I took a nasty fall trying not to hurt my dog. I bruised myself on my arm, my chest, my waist all the way down to my hip,' she told US TV show Extra.

'All from my little chubby Tulip. She has no remorse. She just stared at me.'

Paula's representative David Brokaw says she's making a rapid recovery.

'Paula went to the doctor and she did break her nose, but she's moving on and doing great,' he says. 'She looks terrific. If you didn't know she broke her nose, you'd never guess anything happened to her

Despite her damaged hooter, Paula, 45, is still planning to take her seat on the judging panel on tonight's American Idol show and the season finale tomorrow.
