Does David Beckham secretly want to stay in Spain?

Becks gets tearful at the thought of leaving Europe

Leaving Spain is proving to be an emotional experience for David Beckham.

His team-mates at Real Madrid threw a special party for him at the Los Molinos restaurant last week and Becks was very touched.

'I will never forget you. You are like my family,' he told close friends and fellow players. 'I will return to Madrid whenever I can.'

So does David really want to join LA Galaxy - and be put out to grass at the age of 32? His five year contract begins on 1 July but American football is not the massively popular sport as it is in Europe and the UK.

'He's starting to get cold feet,' a friend of his sister Joanne tells the Daily Mail.

David made his decision to go to America after spending a lot of time on the benches at Real and being chucked out of the England squad.

But now he's on excellent form in Spain and has been recalled by England coach Steve McClaren.

Posh is thrilled at moving to California and says: 'David and the boys can't wait'. It's undoubtedly a good move for her career, but not his.

Will the Beckhams stick it out and stay in the US? We'll see...
