Brookie actress is still on crutches after accident
Sunday, 20 May 2007
Last month former Brookside star Jennifer Ellison, 23, dislocated her kneecap and damaged tendons and ligaments in a dance class accident.
It meant she had to pull out of a tour of the musical Chicago - and she won't be reclaiming her role as Roxie Hart.
'Now I'm out of Chicago for good,' she reveals. 'I'm absolutely gutted.
'My leg popped. I was crippled with pain and it looked like my knee was sticking out the wrong side. It was such a blow.'
Jennifer has been told she'll need an operation to stop the same injury happening a second time. Six weeks later, she can still only get around on crutches.
Fiancé Tony Richardson has been taking care of her and when she's properly recovered, she'd like to try a new stage role.
'After this, I may try another musical,' she tells the Sunday Mirror. 'I keep in touch with Andrew Lloyd Webber from Phantom Of The Opera.
'If he offered me a role then I would definitely take him up on it. I just wish!'
