Charlie Brooks: Split up but still shacked up

Former EastEnders star lives with her daughter's dad but enjoys the single life

Charlie Brooks split from her partner Tony Truman six months ago, but the 26-year old actress is still sharing a house with her ex.

The couple have a young daughter Kiki - born in December 2004 – and Charlie insists she and Tony will always be good mates.

‘We knew our friendship would continue because that’s how our relationship started,’ she tells Sunday magazine. ‘People ask if it’s weird still living together, but we’re just getting on with it for Kiki’s sake.’

Charlie met Tony when she was 21 and doesn't want to start dating again yet.

'It’s too soon, I’m just having a good time being single,' she says. 'It’s a whole different world again and I’m reliving my youth a little bit.’

The actress, who was in EastEnders for five years and has guest-starred in Heartbeat, wants a bit of personal space.

‘I need to spend some time on my own,’ she insists. ‘I’ve been a serial monogamist my whole life so I’m going to remain strong and spend time on my own now.’
