Jennifer Lopez receives death threats for wearing fur

Star is targeted by animal rights extremists

J Lo's husband Marc Anthony has reportedly hired extra bodyguards for his wife because she's received menacing letters.

It's claimed the writer threatens 'to kill her in public, just like the slaughtered animals whose fur she wears.'

'Marc Anthony has hired two off-duty police officers, in addition to her usual security team, to watch over Lopez whenever she makes public appearances,' a source tells the New York Daily News.'

But 37-year-old Jennifer's representative has denied the star has increased her security, stating: 'This is untrue. She has had the same security team she has always had.'

A representative for PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) says: 'All violence is wrong. But J Lo needs to stop the real violence she promotes and subsidises rather than give herself extra protection she doesn't need.'
