Hotel heiress must serve 45 days behind bars

Paris Hilton has been sentenced to 45 days behind bars for violating her probation for a drink-driving conviction.
'I'm very sorry and from now on I'm going to pay complete attention to everything,' a weeping Paris told the court judge before the sentence was announced.
The hotel heiress and her family were shocked and their lawyer Howard Weitzman said: 'I think she was singled out because she's who she is'.
Paris, 26, was originally given three years' probation, fined £500, and lost her licence at the end of January.
She was then stopped on 27 February by LA County Sheriff's Department for speeding on Sunset Boulevard with her car's headlights off.
Paris, who claimed she was not aware her licence had been suspended, was also accused of failing to enrol in an alcohol education programme by a court-ordered deadline.
Her jail term is set to begin on 5 June.
