Chris Tarrant banned from driving

TV star will be off the road for six months

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? presenter Chris Tarrant has been banned from driving for six months and fined £700 for two speeding offences.

The TV star's solicitor argued that Chris needed to keep his licence to get to charity events – and that his working hours made it impossible to use public transport – but the ban went ahead.

Chris was caught doing 83mph in a 70mph in April last year and a month later, 60mph in a 40mph zone.

He is currently in the middle of a £20million divorce battle with wife Ingrid after confessing to a long-term affair.

Chris claims that a chauffeur he once used tried to sell stories about him so is not keen on hiring a driver.

The good news is that at 61, he qualifies for a free bus pass.
