Nicolas Cage snaps up Brit home

Actor is buying a house in Bath

Nicolas Cage is buying a £4 million mansion in the UK.

The actor is reportedly close to completing the purchase of a historic five-storey Georgian townhouse in Bath.

The six-bedroom property, which was built in 1754 and was once home to the Earl of Chatham, is situated on the city's exclusive curved millionaires' row known as The Circus.

'We're told he has bought it but don't know if the sale has gone through yet,' a neighbour tells the Sun.

Estate agent Knight Frank confirmed that a prospective buyer had put in an offer, but would not give any further details.

The 43-year-old already owns a German castle, an island in the Bahamas and properties in Los Angeles.

If Nic does buy in the city, he'll be rubbing shoulders with fellow citizens Johnny Depp and his long-term partner Vanessa Paradis who recently paid £500,000 for a Bath farmhouse.

The couple are said to have fallen in love with the area while Johnny was filming the movie Chocolat in 2000.
