Zoe Lucker answers your email questions

The Footballers' Wives star gets a grilling

Zoe Lucker

How did you feel when Footballers’ Wives was axed?
Diane Richie, Feltham

I’d already left by then, but I felt sorry for those people who were still in it and who’d set their hearts on doing another series. It was the end of an era, so that was sad, but I’d moved on emotionally.

What’s the most ridiculous thing you’ve read about yourself?
Helen Ashworth, Kilburn

That I’m going to be playing an evil villain in the new Doctor Who series. I don’t know where it came from – it’s totally untrue. I’ve never even had a conversation about it! It’d be a great job, though.

What was it like working with Joan Collins?
Sian Phelps, Edgbaston

Brilliant. She was fantastic – great sense of humour, great fun and the consummate professional. I’ve so much respect for her. We kept in touch, but then she went touring and I went travelling. My make-up artist Alan helps Joan out sometimes, so I hear from her through him.

What was your most embarrassing moment on Footballers’ Wives?
Lorna Macintosh, Altrincham

Filming all the sex scenes. Thank God those days are over. Although Ben Price, who played Conrad, was a total professional and a complete gentleman, you still can’t get away from the fact that you’re naked having pretend sex on a bloody Lear jet!

Zöe’s in HolbyBlue on BBC1 at 8pm on Tuesdays.
