Obsessed fan tries to run over Sandra Bullock's husband

Jesse James targeted by woman in Mercedes

A woman obsessed with Sandra Bullock's husband Jesse James tried to run him over outside their home in California, say authorities.

Driving a silver Mercedes, the 45-year-old female, 'jumped in the car, put it in reverse and accelerated in his direction,' Orange County Sheriff Jim Amormino told The San Jose Mercury News.

'She attempted to hit him three or four times.'

The incident happened on Sunday after Sandra, 42, is reported to have asked her to leave the couple's home.

Sheriff Amormino added that on several prior occasions, Sandra and Jesse had found the woman – who was arrested for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon – lying in front of their garage door.

'Both Jesse James and Sandra Bullock are fine, and it is now in the hands of authorities,' says Cheryl Maisel, Bullock's publicist.

The accused female could not be reached for comment.
