Sheryl Crowe: Just one square for your derriere

Star thinks we should all use toilet paper sparingly

Sheryl Crow

Sheryl Crowe reckons she has the answer to saving the rainforests - urging people to use just one square of loo roll per sitting.

She has also designed an alternative to paper napkins - a detachable sleeve which diners can wipe their mouths on.

The 45-year-old singer came up with these ideas while touring US colleges in an environmentally friendly biodiesel-powered bus to raise awareness of climate change.

'I think we are an industrious-enough people that we can make it work with only one square per visit,' she said on her website.

'Except of course, on those pesky occasions where two or three could be required.'

Phew, that's OK then.
