Lily Allen has sparked fears about her frame of mind after letting off steam in a self-loathing rant on her web blog.

Writing on her MySpace page yesterday in an entry titled 'Fat, ugly and sh****r than Amy Winehouse', the usually chirpy star, 22, sounded like a quivering wreck.

'I used to pride myself on being strong-minded and not being some stupid girl obsessed with the way I look,' she writes. 'I felt like it didn't matter if I was a bit chubby 'cause I'm not a model, I'm a singer. I'm afraid I'm not strong and have fallen victim to the evil machine.'

She also said she was 'in a sea of tears' and contemplating 'gastric bypass surgery and laser liposuction.'

We just hope Lils, who had just arrived in America when she posted the blog, was suffering from a huge bout of jetlag. There's no way we want to see our favourite singer/fashion designer feeling down.
