Cheryl Cole's mum moves in

Girls Aloud star knows she can trust her mother

His team-mates at Chelsea are probably ribbing Ashley Cole with a few mother-in-law jokes because wife Cheryl's mum Joan has moved in.

But Joan Tweedy, whose home is in Newcastle, has only settled herself into the Coles' new multi-million pound mansion in Hertfordshire so she can look after the place – and her daughter's pets – while she's on holiday.

'My mum has come down so when me and Ashley are away she can look after our dogs,' 25-year-old Cheryl tells The Evening Standard. 'I love having her down here because we are so close.'

We hear that Ashley gets on 'very well' with his mother-in-law. But we bet he breathes just the teensiest sigh of relief when Joan packs her bags and heads back home to her husband Gary and her two sons...
