Tom Cruise is said to be keen for them to join the cult

Tom Cruise is reportedly always on the phone to David and Victoria Beckham - but not to chat about real estate in California.

It's claimed The War Of The Worlds Star is energetically pursuing his friends – who are preparing to move to Los Angeles – to get them to join the religion.

'Victoria is tired of Tom being on her back about Scientology,' a source told Us Weekly magazine.

'Victoria is an old-fashioned British woman who believes in God. She finds it quite annoying that Tom is bugging her so much. Not too long ago, Tom left 18 messages in one hour to get them to join the church. But when Victoria says no, she means no.'

However, a representative for 44-year-old Tom denies the claims.

'This is completely false,' she said. 'Tom does not and never has encouraged anyone to adopt Scientology.'
