Dermot O'Leary turns down X Factor

Big Brother presenter says no to top job

Dermot O'Leary has reportedly turned down the chance to present X Factor.

It's thought that Simon Cowell approached the star, 33, about hosting the hit show after being impressed by Dermot's stint on Big Brother's Little Brother.

Simon is keen to get a male presenter to replace Kate Thornton following the success that Ryan Seacrest has had fronting American Idol.

'Dermot was flattered but the filming would clash with his upcoming commitments for Big Brother,' a source told the Daily Mirror.

Simon was also said to be keen on signing up T4's Steve Jones but unfortunately he was also unavailable.
