Michael Jackson mania hits London

Screaming fans mob the singer at his hotel

Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson was greeted by dozens of diehard fans yesterday as he arrived at his London hotel.

Jacko lovers crowded outside the Jumeirah Carlton Tower to catch a glimpse of the star.

To stave off bankruptcy, the singer is rumoured to be in town to meet with Sir Paul McCartney's people and discuss selling part of his £200 million Beatles back catalogue.

Police had to be called to ensure that the Jacko-maniacs behaved themselves.

Michael, 48, is currently holed up in the £3,000-a-night presidential suite on the 18th floor of the five-star hotel in Knightsbridge.

He is reported to be travelling with a team of 10 security guards to look after him and children - Prince, 10, and nine-year-old Paris-Michael.

It's not clear if his second son, five-year-old Prince Michael II - who he dangled out of a hotel window in Berlin – is with him.
