Actress goes for a 1920s look for charity auction
Friday, 16 March 2007
Emma Thompson dressed up to the nines in a 1920s flapper-style dress and wowed guests at a charity auction with her karaoke renditions.
The actress, 47, was clearly keen to make sure that she gave her outfit the outing it deserved at the event on Wednesday night in aid of breast cancer charity The Lavender Trust.
And towards the end of the evening she joined forces with Nigella Lawson, Sophie Dahl, Zadie Smith and Thandie Newton to sing a rousing rendition of The Beatles' Let It Be.
'The girls were having a fantastic time,' a guest told the Daily Mail. 'There was a real sense of girls in it together.'
More than £200,000 was raised for charity.
