Petra Nemcova to rival Tyra Banks

James Blunt's girl will star in catwalk reality show

Petra Nemcova is set to take on Tyra Banks in a new reality show about modelling.

The 27-year-old Czech supermodel will front The Petra Nemcova Project for American channel TLC in the summer.

She will mentor a group of wannabes all fighting to land a top contract with fashion chain Next. She'll take them around the world to give them assigments and tips on how to survive in the cut-throat world of the catwalk.

The show follows other hit model series such as America's Next Top Model, fronted by Tyra Banks, and The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency.

But producer Dave Broome says the girls in the show had been cast because of their potential to thrive in the real world of modelling rather than for their potential to create reality show drama.

'This isn't a gameshow,' he tells The Sun. 'You're not going to get the clawing and bitch-slapping you get in the other shows. The drama here is real and not put together.'
