Kara Tointon: James Alexandrou makes me so happy

EastEnders actress prefers nights in with her fella

The paparazzi are unlikely to snap EastEnders actress Kara Tointon falling out of a West End night club at 3am.

She'd much rather be at home with boyfriend and former co-star actor James Alexandrou.

'God, we're so boring. I'm like a retired gran!' she insists. 'My mum keeps saying to me, "Go out for a drink, Kara, have some fun".

'I keep thinking I'll hit a teenage stage and freak out, but it never happens. I just think it's because I'm so content and happy with James.

'I've always been a homely king of girl, I would rather just curl up on the sofa with him and a takeaway.'

Kara, 23, who plays Dawn Swann in the Albert Square soap, and James – aka Martin Fowler for 10 years – were pals for a year before officially becoming an item eight months ago.

The couple do get spotted out and about but they're not hounded by photographers.

'I'm hardly recognised if I'm on my own,' Kara tells Saturday magazine. 'James gets us noticed. He's 6ft 2in so stands out like a sore thumb.

'But we're hardly Brad and Angelina.'
