Kate Ford gets her own bodyguard on Corrie set

Actress needs extra security over fan abuse

Corrie's Kate Ford has been given her own bodyguard on set after fans – confusing her with onscreen character Tracy Barlow – hurled abuse at for being a killer.

They yelled 'murderer' and 'rot in hell', as Kate, 29, arrived to film Tracy's trial in Bradford.

'Some fans have been getting a bit over-excited, shouting things at her and Kate was quite rattled,' a show source tells the Sun.

'Bosses decided she could do with some tighter security just in case someone does something silly.'

Tracy's murder trial for the killing of evil builder Charlie Stubbs is set to be Corrie's most explosive storyline for months. Yesterday producers filmed two endings to keep fans guessing whether she goes down.

Screening of the trial starts on 26 March 26 and the verdict is on 2 April.
