Mischa Barton distances herself from Paris Hilton

Actress makes distinction between real and fake celebs

Mischa Barton has branded Paris Hilton a 'fake celebrity'.

The actress rubbished claims that she is friends with the hotel heiress, insisting they socialise in different circles.

'Paris and I are not in the same crowd, I don't know her,' she told the Daily Record. 'It's strange to me to see the way all the young actresses are lumped together. It's true that I am friends with Nicole Richie but that's it.

'I think there's a difference between people who are famous because of the work they do and fake celebrities.'

Mischa, 21, is a regular on the Los Angeles party circuit. Last week, she was also spotted partying with Kirsten Dunst in New York and she previously dated Brandon Davis, who Paris was romantically linked to last year.
