Monday, 5 March 2007
Cuddly TV gardener Alan Titchmarsh has been given his own ITV1 chat show.
The former Ground Force host will launch The Alan Titchmarsh Show in the autumn.
'My BBC work will continue,' the 57-year-old explains, 'but....to meet and talk with people from all walks of life - both the famous and the less well-known "national treasures" - is something I have always enjoyed.'
Alison Sharman, director of factual and daytime at ITV, adds: 'Alan has become established as one of the nation's favourite TV personalities. We're delighted that he's coming to ITV to host this new daytime series.'
Alan, you're a legend.
