Helen Mirren: I wore false bum to be Queen

Actress had to pad out her backside

Slinky Helen Mirren had to wear padding to make her bottom big enough to play Elizabeth II.

The actress, 61, let fellow Hollywood star Penolope Cruz in on her secret during a post Oscars bash.

'I was talking to Helen and she said she had to have a false backside fitted to do The Queen,' recalls Penelope.

And the Spanish star, 31, says she also had to rely on padding for her part in Volver.

'Americans are really surprised to hear that an actress would accept being seen with a big backside,' she admits.

Let's hope Pen and Helen can kick-start a trend for larger bottoms.
