Macca gives two fingers to Heather Mills

A smiling Sir Paul leaves the court after divorce hearing

Paul McCartney

A beaming Paul McCartney gave the victory salute yesterday after the latest round in his divorce from Heather Mills.

The couple went head to head in a secret preliminary hearing in the High Court in London and it seemed as if Paul, 64, came out on top, after he emerged grinning and told fans: 'I'm all right.'

Paul flashed his trademark V for victory sign as he jumped into his blacked-out Lexus and sped off.

But grim-faced Heather, 39, remained in the court for nearly an hour before being smuggled out of a back entrance.

The preliminary hearing is believed to be over maintenance payments. The case was cloaked in so much secrecy that court staff broke protocol by refusing to list it by name outside the building and referred to it only by case number.

A legal source tells the Daily Mail: 'This was just the latest of a number of hearings. Things are far from resolved.'
