Doctor Who's new assistant will use role to pay off loans
Sunday, 1 April 2007
Billie Piper's replacement as Dr Who's assistant Freema Agyeman is over the moon she can now afford to pay back the debts she racked up as a student.
Although she once had a stint in Crossroads, before landing the Dr Who role Freema was working in her local Blockbusters - which meant she had to move back in with her parents.
But a hefty fee of £80,000 for 13 episodes is set to change everything.
'Now I can finally see a time when my debts will be gone,' she says. 'I want to pay it all back by the end of the year, then look for a home.'
And with a new property-developer boyfriend, it shouldn't be too difficult.
'Maybe when I've paid off all my debts, he can get me a good deal,' she tells Sunday mag.
